Paul White
Paul’s career started over 42 years ago working for a local residential home builder in Massachusetts when he was just 13 years old. He graduated from a Vocational High School and then worked for a commercial construction company as a lead man for several years. Following the Commercial job, he was self-employed doing both residential and commercial construction for over 25 years. Paul has a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License and is also Certified as a Massachusetts Local Building Inspector. He has currently been working as a building inspector in Massachusetts, has taught a CSL exam prep course, and he is now an instructor for continuing education. He enjoys time with family and our dogs, playing guitar, football, and having a beer or 2 with friends.
Eugene M. Novak, Jr.
Gene Novak is a Licensed Construction Supervisor, Class A Field Concrete Technician, and currently works as District State Building Inspector with the Department of Occupational Labor – Office of Public Safety & Inspections for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gene has over 35 years of knowledge in the construction industry including reviewing plans, applying building codes and standards to a variety of buildings and structures in the built environment. Gene is a certified NIMS – ICS instructor, ATC-45, and has instructed classes for NAARSO, AIMS International. Experience includes design and review of plans, issuing building permits, and conducting inspections on thousands of residential and commercial building projects throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gene has presented technical topics to code officials and has demonstrated an ability to understand, educate and apply codes and referenced standards to a variety of building design proposals from concept and feasibility studies through Commissioning, start-up, and implementation.
Ethan DeSota
Ethan DeSota is a 36 year construction veteran and a second generation contractor. An early adopter of advanced building technologies, he has overseen over 1500 projects in 15 US states and in Canada. Beginning as a young teen, he served alongside his father renovating apartments, started an exterior painting firm with his brother at 22, and grew from there to oversee and complete individual projects costing over 20 million dollars.
Ethan and his wife Natalia currently own and oversee the operations Exponent Construction Group and are key owners in a millwork company serving contractors and the multifamily industry. Ethan brings deep experience in design, solar and efficiency, advanced building techniques, and construction business management across all trades and aspects of the industry. His expertise has opened doors for him to train thousands both nationally and internationally.
Helping contractors establish successful businesses and navigate the complexities of todays codes and market challenges is one of his great pleasures. He is gratefully dedicated to paying forward the mentoring he has received along the way and believes that every contractor can realize the dream of building personal wealth, a legacy of quality work, and a healthy, full life enjoying family and friends while serving clients with integrity.
Victor Pereira
Victor is semi-retired and has over 55 years in the construction industry, where he designed and supervised construction of all types of buildings. He started in residential working with his dad, who was a mason, at the age of 13. Victor is a graduate Civil Engineer BSCE and Architect AET. He has performed civil, architectural and structural design, and has designed and supervised projects including schools, colleges, universities, corporate headquarters, high rises, and more. He owns a construction firm that completes primarily church and hospital projects.
Victor has been employed by national firms such as Gilbane, Turner, Skanska, Consigli, and others. He was the Senior General Superintendent supervising the construction of stadiums such as Gillette Stadium and MetLife Stadium. He has maintained a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors license since the requirement became law and has held many other building licenses during his career, including Boston ABCD at age 27. Victor is certified in OSHA and numerous types of equipment, construction methods, and techniques. He served on the American Arbitration Association: Construction Arbitrator’s Panel and has achieved many local and national awards, including recognition for specific projects and safety accomplishments. His experience spans everything from small residential to large commercial projects.
